On Tuesday, July 9 at 8:00 pm at the main square of Ilion,the Ilion Citizens’ Initiative for Resistance and Solidarity organize an open debate on the issue of privatization of water. The following people are invited to attend and speak:

‘No to the privatization of water’
In “Plato’s Academy CAFE”
An event – discussion on the impending privatization of water will take place on Wednesday 27/3 at 18:30 at “Cafe Plato’s Academy”, Monastirou 140 & Tilefanous, Plato’s Academy, Athens.
During the event the documentary “FLOW For Love of Water” which describes the destructive practices of multinational water companies will be projected. The award-winner documentary film by Irena Salina Flow-For Love of Water explores what experts consider to be the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st century. The global water crisis. Salina’s research focus on politics, pollution, human rights, the sudden appearance of various water management companies and their ethics, as well as the citizens struggle against privatization.
Before projection
Members of SAVEGREEKWATER – the initiative for the non-privatization of water in Greece – and representatives of EYDAP employees will inform the audience about the immediate threat of water privatization, as part of the memorandum, first in Thessaloniki (EYATH) and then in Athens, mentioning some recent & impressive developments concerning the French President’s visit in Athens and the actions they undertake in order to neutralize this threat.
After the screening of the film, an open discussion on the subject will follow

«NO! TO WATER PRIVATIZATION»
AT THE ‘PORT OF AGONY’
An event on the threat of water privatization is going to take place on Wednesday 27/2 at 8p.m. at the Social Space “Port of Agony”, Praxitelous 78 & Venizelou at Piraeus.
The event is going to start with a projection of a short version of the documentary “Water Makes Money” that presents the consequences of water privatization in several European countries, but also the trend of remunicipilization which followed these negative experiences.
After that, members of SAVEGREEKWATER – The initiative for the non privatization of water in Greece- and representatives of EYDAP employees, will inform the audience on the immediate memorandum threat of water privatization, first of Thessaloniki and then of Athens, which was forwarded among others by the French president in his recent visit and explain at the same time the moves they make in order to stop this from happening.
Some more interventions will follow and then there will be plenty of time for an open discussion with those present.

]]>An open discussion will take place at Pallini on Wednesday, 30 January at 18:30 (Cultural Center – Winery Peter L. 117 Marathon, next OAED Pallini), organized by ANESPAA. (Development, Environmental, Consumer and Scientific Association of the Citizens of Eastern Attica)
The event will begin with the screening of the documentary “Life For Sale”, by the journalist G. Avgeropoulos, dealing with the negative experience of the privatization of water in other countries. The journalist Mr. Avgeropoulos will open the event and introduce the subject.
After the screening, representatives of the union of employees of EYDAP and others from the citizens’ initiative «SAVEGREEKWATER»(for the non privatization of water in Greece), will inform the attendees on the problems that will be caused by the imminent privatization of greek water companies (EYDAP and EYATH), and what were the consequences of privatization in France, Germany, Canada, etc.
After the event, a resolution will be voted and signed by the residents of the area which is to be delivered to the Municipal Councils of Eastern Attica.
